Wishlist Wednesday #2

Hey, everyone! Time for another Wishlist Wednesday! This is a weekly meme held by Pen to Paper that focuses on one book that I really want to buy soon.

Wishlist Wednesday #2
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Series: Throne of Glass #1
Publication Date: August 7th 2012
Pages: 404
Buy the book: Amazon

After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.

Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another.

Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

So when I started writing this post, this book was on my wishlist. Then when I noticed the book was only $1.99 on Amazon right now, I bought it without a second thought. But I think it is still in the spirit of Wishlist Wednesday so I’ll tell you why I want to read it so much…

I love books about assassins! I just do. Books like this are usually filled with action, mystery, and multidimensional characters who you can’t help but like despite their occupation. The cover of this books is also gorgeous, and the fact that it has a ton of four and five start reviews on Goodreads gives me great hope that I’ll enjoy reading it.

As always, I’d love to hear what’s on your wishlist right now so let me know in the comment section below!

Until next time…
