Hi, guys! I just wanted to do a short intro thanking Erin for stopping by my blog today! This tour includes and adorable top ten that is all about Erin and her husband Drew, information on both of their books, and a giveaway opportunity. I’ve had so much fun working with the both of them the last few weeks. They are so cute and have become my new relationship goals. Plus, they write great guest post.
The rest of this post was written entirely by Erin, enjoy!
Thank you to Kookie Krysp Reads for hosting me today! I’m so stoked to be here with you and your readers! 🙂 Pssssttttt…be sure to read all the way to the end because there’s a rafflecopter entry for a $50 Amazon gift card!! Don’t wanna miss that! 😉
I literally sat with the back of my head against the headboard of my bed, eyes cast toward the ceiling, and thought and thought about what to write a Top 10 about. LOL! Even the most verbose of writers get writer’s block sometimes!
So, since people flock to my blog when I post about Deek (my husband) and me, I thought I’d show you my Top 10 pictures of us. Now, it’s important to note that I have thousands (yes, thousands) of pictures of me and Deek, so narrowing it down to ten will be nearly impossible. Eek!!
Deek and I got matching tattoos that say “Tenacious” on our right wrists. For us, this word symbolizes the tenacity we needed to have to get to where we are in life, to be together, and to become published authors. None of these things happen overnight. They take work and effort, and Deek and I are willing to put in the time and attention required to have the life we want.
Several things come to mind when I see this picture. The first is mmmmm…pizza. But the truly special part of this one is what we’re celebrating: Deek’s first publishing contract!! It’s kinda crazy to see this pic from so long ago and know that book finally came out on April 5, 2016.
Deek and I used to live in a small town that’s famous for its antique stores. Every season, they do a game, where you go to all the antique stores, gather information, and submit what you found for a prize drawing. Well, I won! And one of the prizes I got was a gift card to a small bakery, so Deek and I went there for a lunch date. While we were there, we snapped this selfie, and I just ADORE his expression here! <3
This picture always makes me smile because I love that Deek’s kissing me, I love my expression and purple hair, and I love the memory of this moment…the first time I held the printed copy of The Prophecy in my hands. Yes of blood, sweat, and tears culminated into a book I could hold!
My soul sister, Dawn, decided to try her hand at portrait photography (she normally does landscapes), and she asked Deek and me to be her test subjects. While we thought she was fiddling with her camera, I bent down to whisper something in his ear, and she snapped this shot. It’s one of my most favorite pictures to date and hangs in our bedroom in a frame that says, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
I count these two as one photograph. The bottom one is from our engagement photo shoot. Deek and I decided to do something really silly, and we LOVED how it turned out. So, we recreated it at our Southern wedding (did I mention we got married twice?). I think it really shows the fun, crazy side of us, and we’ve decided to recreate this picture every year for our Southern wedding anniversary!
I love, love, love this picture. It’s so “us.” We’re a fun-loving, silly pair. Most of the time we’re together, you’ll find us goofing off or laughing. We truly enjoy and appreciate our life together.
For our first wedding–in the Pacific Northwest–Deek’s friend Adriel took the photos. He created a magical, fairytale world out of our old Victorian. He captured this photo in the carriage house beside the main house, right after the wedding. His assistant went out behind us and shone a light inside, which created this amazing effect.
For our second wedding–in the South–my friend Kim took the photographs. She was all about letting lose and having fun (what else can you do when it’s 90 degrees and bugs are attacking you from every which-a-way?). After the more “formal” shots, she told Deek and I to just goof around, and she started snapping the shots. This picture came out of that roll, and I think it captures the essence of us perfectly.
This picture is one of the first ever taken of us, when we met in person for the first time. You can read all about our love story on our blogs or listen to it on the MindSoak podcast (long story short: We met on Twitter, had a long distance relationship, and eventually got married–LOL). Deek and I started talking in the pages of his manuscript, 122 Rules. We moved on to emails, texting, and then FaceTime, and we spent hours and hours talking on FaceTime. But he had to fly across the country to meet me in person, and after a long, long flight, we finally got to meet. This picture reminds me of that moment.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the pictorial journey in the lives of Deek and Erin Rhew! 😉 Be sure to follow us online, where you’re sure to find even more! 😉
Last week, Deek went on blog tour to celebrate the release of his latest book, 122 Rules. And this week, Erin is on tour to promote her fantasy trilogy, The Fulfillment Series! PS. There’s a giveaway–a $50 Amazon gift card!!
So, here’s a little bit more about Erin, Deek, and The Fulfillment Series:
Title: The Prophecy
Author: Erin Rhew
Growing up on a small farm in the kingdom of Vanguard, seventeen-year-old Layla Givens lives a deceptively tranquil existence. But her carefully constructed life quickly falls apart when she’s abducted by a religious zealot who proclaims her The Fulfillment of an ancient peace prophecy and whisks her away to marry her greatest enemy.
Wilhelm, Prince of the Ethereals, is reluctant to meet his new bride. He’s grown up believing Vanguards are evil, an enemy to fight and fear…not love. Can he set aside his prejudices and work alongside Layla to bring lasting peace after centuries of war?
Nash, a loner who has never fit in, carries a huge secret, one big enough to destroy both kingdoms. When he accidently meets Layla, he’s no longer content to live in the shadows, but he must resist his growing attraction–for her safety and for the longevity of the two kingdoms.
When Nash’s secret is revealed, a firestorm sweeps through both realms, with Layla at the center. Now she must choose between duty and desire while the fate of two nations hangs in the balance.

About Erin Rhew
Erin Rhew is an editor, a running coach, and the author of The Fulfillment Series. Since she
picked up Morris the Moose Goes to School at age four, she has been infatuated with the
word. She went on to work as a grammar and writing tutor in college and is still teased by her
family and friends for being a member of the “Grammar Police.”
A Southern girl by blood and birth, Erin now lives in a rainy pocket of the Pacific Northwest with
the amazingly talented (and totally handsome) writer Deek Rhew and their “overly
fluffy,” patient-as-a-saint writing assistant, a tabby cat named Trinity. She and Deek enjoy
reading aloud to one another, running, lifting, boxing, eating chocolate, and writing side-by-
